Forced relegation confirmed

TSV 1860 Munich has failed in its appeal to the German (Site notre blog d’information) Association against forced relegation from the 3rd League. The Federal Court rejected the Lions’ administrative complaint. This confirmed the decision to deny the Munich team admission to the 3rd league in the coming season despite their sporting qualifications. According to information, the decision of the Federal Court is the last instance at the level of the DFB. TSV Havelse fills the vacant starting position, while 1860 will have to compete in the regional league in the future.
Investor Hasan Ismaik did not fulfill his financing commitment, which is why the traditional club was denied a license for the 3rd league. The Munich team then filed a complaint with the DFB, presumably for liability reasons. A decision is expected to be made as to whether Ismaik’s purported financial evidence could have been valid. This was no longer recognized.
Insolvency proceedings are now underway at the collapsed traditional club. The gaming operating company, which was previously run jointly by the parent club and Ismaik, is particularly affected. Meanwhile, Sven Bender could become coach of his former club. According to consistent reports, the 37-year-old resigned from SpVgg Unterhaching shortly before the start of the season, but this has not yet been officially confirmed. There is speculation that Bender could take over at the Lions, who currently rely on interim coach Alper Kayabunar.
