FC Hansa Rostock has presented its fifth recruit, Florian Bohnert (28 years old). The 63-time Luxembourg international comes from SC Bastia, relegated to the French second division. Bohnert, who can be used flexibly on both the right and left side, played 25 games with Turchini last season.
« Florian brings a very good mix of experience, speed and flexibility. He gives us additional options on the right and left side and ensures more variability in our game thanks to his high defensive stability. At the same time, he knows different leagues and playing systems and therefore brings a valuable international perspective. We are convinced that he suits us very well both in terms of sport and personality, » said director of professional (Site notre bureau spécialisé) Amir Shapourzadeh.
Bohnert, who trained among others at 1. FC Saarbrücken and then played for the reserves of Schalke and Mainz before moving to France via Luxembourg, added: « The move to Rostock is an exciting step for me. I have experienced many intensive years in France and in the national team and now I am looking forward to bringing these experiences to a new environment. Hansa is a club with a great tradition, special fans and sporting ambitions. The discussions with those in charge were very clear and honest – it impressed me, I want to get here quickly, take responsibility and do my part to ensure our team is stable and successful.
