The duels of two brothers invite each other
VfL Bochum have apparently won the race for Keven Schlotterbeck. As the « Kicker » reports, a change should be perfect in the near future. A few days ago, the ‘Bild’ wrote that the 25-year-old central defender from SC Freiburg was a ‘hot candidate’ in the penultimate Bundesliga. Schlotterbeck was also linked with Schalke 04, Mainz 05 and Championship club West Bromwich Albion.

The Bochumers, threatened with relegation, are looking for reinforcements for the weakest defense in the championship so far (36 goals conceded), which seems to have been found with Schlotterbeck. The left-handed player has mostly only made short appearances for the Breisgau side this season, only being on the pitch for 150 minutes in total. “He is a player that we know and who recently expressed his wish to change. Of course we are talking about him internally – as well as other names,” commented VfL coach Thomas Letsch on previous reports.
Letsch, who expects his team to return to training after the winter break on Monday, was referring to a TM interview from early December in which Schlotterbeck explained: « I just want to be back on the (Site notre bureau spécialisé) pitch and play (Site notre bureau spécialisé). That’s why it’s also an option for me to change clubs and get some playing time. I’m in contact with SC Freiburg officials and I hope eventually that together we can find a good solution to my situation.
When signing for VfL Bochum: Brother duels with BVB professional Nico Schlotterbeck
If an agreement is reached with Bochum, there would be two more brotherly duels this season with Nico Schlotterbeck (23), who has played for Borussia Dortmund since last summer. On February 8, BVB will first be in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup before VfL and the Blacks and Yellows meet on the occasion of the 30th day of the Bundesliga.
